Friday Favourites

Good Morning Beautiful People! :)

In my first blog post I stated how I've been reading mom blogs for the past 4 years!
Well my all time favourite blog, Momfessionals, does a post every Friday about a few of her favourite things!

If you're interested in the link up feel free to grab the graphic and link in with Andrea of Momfessionals!!

But for now here are my Friday Favourite!

First off a new favourite of mine has been my new glasses!!
Working at a glasses store I literally see a million different kinds of glasses and it has taken me 3 months to decide on new frames!
And these bad boys were worth the wait!!

You can find my sweater here.. I have it in Lilac

Another favourite of mine is the lipstick I'm wearing in this photo!
If you're Canadian its an exclusive Shoppers Drug Mart brand

The brand is Essence and I'm obsessed with their lipsticks!!!
They are SUPER affordable at roughly $4 each!
They only have 6 colours to start off at and I have all 6!!
The matte finish is awesome and it lasts all day!!
Currently I'm wearing Barely There colour 06!

Scandal has been a favourite of mine since Season 2, however I got lost mid-season 5. Once the election started and they were looking for a new President I got really bored!

Image result for scandal

But my co-worker and her husband started watching from Season 1 and she got me to start watching it again. After Season 5 was over and Season 6 started I've been glued to it!!!!
Currently, I'm at work writing this and watching Scandal on my phone!!

My name is Samantha and I have a Netflix-Binging problem!!

One of FAVOURITE people got engaged two weeks ago!! My best friend Brianne called me to tell me her boyfriend of 7 years had FINALLY popped the questions!!!
I am beyond excited to party the night away with her family and friends and celebrate their love for each other!!

High School Graduation June 2009

Last Saturday I went over to her house for dinner and wine to just talk and catch up!
I am also happy to say that I am NOT in the Wedding Party!!!

I know that sounds horrible to say, considering she's my best friend, but last summer I was my cousin's Maid of Honour and it was just a headache!
I still haven't recovered from the last wedding I was in, I'm not in any mood to be in another one!!

I told her I was more than happy to help plan things, of course, and she is happy to take my help!!

Her bridal party consists of women that aren't as creative as me and her! LOL!

It's a short post today!
It's Good Friday and I'm spending it cooking and cleaning and prepping my house for 10 people to come to dinner on Saturday!

I'll be back on Monday!

Noah's First Under the Sea Party

March 10th 2018

My cousin, and best friend, Jennel is a mom of three kids!!
I love those three to bunches!
They are my everything!

When Jennel asked me to help plan her sons, Chase (7) and Noah (1), birthday party I was all in!!

The boys birthdays are less than one week apart! Jennel didn't want to do the parties together to take the spotlight away from Chase on his birthday but Chase insisted that they have the parties together!
He is such a sweet soul!!

When she called me panicking about what she was going to do to make both parties about each of them!
I came up with the idea of doing two parties!

One for Chase in the basement, with his school friends, and one for Noah, and our all family, upstairs!
That way the five 7 year old boys in attendance weren't bothering the adults and young children!

I'll blog about Chase's party later next week but todays post is all about...

!Noah's First Under the Sea Party!

Honestly, I paid so much detail to Chase's party that I felt bad how little I paid attention to Noah's decorations! But thankfully Jennel had an idea in mind!!

I worked on decorations for roughly about a month!! Because I wasn't blogging at the time I didn't save my step-by-step pictures on how I did things but when it comes to the current parties I'm planning I'll make sure to take more photos along the way.

When Jennel came to me with themes for the party she wanted Noah's favourite TV show to be the theme. I think it was called Splash and Bubbles or something. I had no idea what that was and when I went on Pinterest, not many people had either!

So we settled for an Under The Sea theme, but without mermaids.

And because it was his first birthday I wanted to make sure his highchair was decorated as well!

Since Jennel was on a budget we couldn't order a highchair banner so I decided I would try and make one and see how it went!

I went to the dollar store and bought steamers. I had leftover string from other crafts that I did and tried tying the streamers onto the string. The only thing was that the streamers were way too thin and just ripped every time I went to tie it.
I had to rethink my plan!

I went back to the dollar store to find ribbon. However, the only ribbon they had in large quantities was the thin ribbon. So I grabbed a bunch of different shade of blue and a green as well as roll of the only thick ribbon they did have and went home.

All I did was tie the ribbon onto the string and saw that it was actually turning out pretty cute! I was getting somewhere.
I went to a different dollar store to see if they had any thick ribbon but they didn't either. However I found some burlap as well these adorable chalkboard circles to tie on to spell one!

It literally took a full Sunday to finish it BUT it turned out more amazing than I ever could have imagined!!

I also made a ton of fish out of construction paper and bought green and blue streamers and when the day of the party came it was time to hang it all up!!

We put the fish all over the living room walls and made the streamers look like water and seaweed!

Jennel had made a few fish as well but she had done them more elaborate than I had so we decided to use the leftover blue ribbon and hang them from the ceiling

I also blew up about 20 blue balloons and had them all over the floor to make the illusion of water!

It turned out super cute!!

Sadly though, Noah was sick! :(
The poor baby was only up for an hour of the whole party!!!
So sadly I didn't get a whole lot of pictures of that..

Jennel and I had made a cake for him to smash, but sadly he didn't even make it to that!!
But for all due purposes here is Noah's cake..

Jennel decorated it while I was decorating the cupcakes for Chase's cake and I think she did an AMAZING job!
It looked so cute!!!

Next week when I post about Chase's half of the day there will be PLENTY more pictures!! So stay tuned... but for now here's a preview of what you're in for..

Meet Duke

Growing up we always had a dog in the house.
Sausha was my childhood dog that was so beloved by everyone!
She was a perfect dog!!
However, after 16 years she sadly passed away

It took five more years for my family to get another dog!

This past summer my stepfather, Geoff, surprised us all with a new puppy!
He was only two weeks old at the time so we had to wait to bring him home!!
Geoff went and picked him out and one day while at work this is the photo I received....

Due to the environment that he was in, we took him home at four weeks old.
So on August 8th, 2017 I came home from work to this little guy, Duke,...

Looking at these photos I cannot believe home small he was!!
He was so tiny!! He only weighed about 4 pounds and he was so sweet!!!!

He cried a little bit the first couple nights home but it wasn't long before he got used to the crazy that is our house.

Fast forward to today,
Duke will be 9 months old on April 1st and he currently weighs in at 75 pounds!!

Duke is a very cute, very active 9 month old German Shepherd Rottweiler mix

Duke grew extremely fast!! Every week he was another 5 pounds! I've never seen anything grow that quickly!! I had a plant that didn't grow that fast!!

Although he looks sweet, Duke is a very annoying dog!!
Most of the time he is chasing you around or biting at your ears!!
This dog literally never stays still!!

Currently as well he needs to be neutered and walking to my room every evening is an extreme challenge. Literally no one is safe! LOL!
If you have any tips on how to tame your dog, we are open to ALL suggestions!!! lol!

But little Dukey is my baby and he is so loved over here!!

Here's a bunch of photos of Duke from when he got him until today...
