Friday Favourites!!

Good Morning Beautifuls!!

I know I didn't blog yesterday, I'm sorry!
I'm still trying to get in the groove of posting!
So today I'm starting things a bit different!

I skipped yesterdays post so that I could write today's post yesterday..
and hopefully that will make me more on top of things!
Gives me a bit more of buffer

But just like the past two Fridays I'm doing my Friday Favourites with Momfessionals!!

If you wanna link along grab the graphic and link up to Momfessionals or any of her friends!
I take a look at a lot of the posts so maybe I'll just stumble upon yours!!

The past two weeks I have been listening to this album on repeat!!
I'm literally talking have listened to NOTHING ELSE!!

Image result for home state jordan davis

Jordan Davis!! I'm so in LOVE!!
He is a mix between Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line and I can't get enough!!

My favourites on the album are Take It From Me and Selfish!!

Listen to either of those songs and you will be sold QUICKLY!!

This week I have been up to my neck in party planning for Jennel's daughters spa-themed birthday!
I'm currently working on the invitations!!
After the party I'll make a whole blog post on the party just like I did with her brothers!
But here's a little sneak peek for the time being!!

These invitations are definitely going to be a favourite of dear little Ryleigh!!

My current obsession is Starbucks Comfort Teas!!
I'm serious I get a Venti every day!!
They're so tasty!!
I get a Venti so I get a bag on the side so I can make one later on in the day!

Sadly Teavana doesn't sell them for retail just yet but the second the do I'm buying up all of the boxes!!!

It's caffeine free which is great because my doctor has told me multiple times I need to cut down on the coffee! But when it's cold drinking hot beverages it my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!!
Once summer hits I'm sure the obsession will end!!

Last Friday sadly Canada lost 15 beautiful souls in a TRAGIC bus accident!!
I'm sure everyone has heard by now, but it has hit Canada as a country extremely hard!

Growing up in Canada most people play hockey and those who make it Junior leagues have very good chances on going to the NHL. But sadly the Humboldt Broncos players that were headed in that direction will never see the NHL!

My favourite things this week though has been seeing the AMAZING support that Canada as well as other countries have given those poor poor families!
From the gofundme page that has raised close to 10 MILLION DOLLARS!!!
it could be more by the time you are reading this as its Thursday night and it just KEEPS GROWING!!
All the proceeds go towards the families so if you wanna donate I've linked the page here
to people wearing jerseys yesterday to show their support to the family members and friends and survivors of this devastating event!!

My sister borrowed my hockey jersey to wear to work so I found the next best thing in order to show my support!

My prayers are with those families that are going through such a traumatic loss!

Those are my favourites for this week!
Until we meet again!!

My Makeup Routine!

** edit:: sorry for the late post! Wednesdays posts need to be done Tuesday night!! I'll get better I promise lol! But I guess that's life**

Hello Beautiful People!

Today I'm going to post about my daily makeup routine!

I was raised by a tomboy so everything I've learned about makeup has been from people who have taught me along the way.
Children today don't know how easy they have it with all the YouTube tutorials!

They will never have to relive old photos of them with blue eyeliner and matching blue lipstick!
** insert eyes rolling here**

I'm extremely bad at taking my makeup off at the end of the night!
So I usually start by taking off my makeup. I'm allergic to aloe and every single wipe that I look at usually has aloe in it!
Close to me we have a clothing store chain that has this brand that I usually buy that doesn't have any..

..and then I put on my foundation
This is the foundation I use..

I use the concealer stick under my eyes and and if I have any blemishes

After my face is finally all one colour I like to use loose powder to hide all the brush marks.
This is the loose powder I use...

Now I have no eyelashes!! They are thin and small and I hate them!!
I'm currently considering getting eyelash extensions but for now I'll suffer through with eyeliner and mascara!

Now I only put eyeliner on my top lids!! And I like a full thick strip to make it look like I have a full-set of eyelashes!
And then coat my eyelashes with probably three layers of mascara.
I usually buy the brands that have an extra lift and volume.
These are the eyeliner and mascaras I'm using now..

Then I add some blush..

then add some simmer...

Now this simmer I got randomly and don't know how I'm going to buy it once I've run out!
I bought it from a saleslady that just came into my work selling makeup!
SO here's hoping it lasts forever!!!

When it comes to makeup brushes I haven't found the ones I like the best!
I'm terrible at cleaning my brushes so I just buy really cheap ones that I can throw out once they're done and go and buy some new ones!
For now these are the brushes I'm using!

If you have any tips on cleaning brushes and what types of brushes you use! Please feel free to leave me a comment!!

Here's a little before and after shot for you..

Weekend Recap!

Hello Beautifuls!!

I'm back at work today, and let me tell you after the weekend I had I DID NOT want to come back in today!!

This weekend was very relaxing!!
I had a rough week last week, with covering and PMS
**insert eye roll here**
So I thought this weekend I'd have some ME time!!
It was much needed!!

I worked Saturday so I was up early and out of the house!
Saturday was payday so I got to work early in order to cash my cheque and do the errands that I needed to do around here!

I got home and I had bought Duke a bone and he was more than excited!! This is how he thanked me

No personal space allowed!!

I was sitting with him in the garage and he was quite a distance away from me chewing his bone
He dropped it on the cement floor and a piece broke off flew across the room and hit me in the chest!
I KID YOU NOT!

It was red like that for at least twenty minutes!!
It hurt like a BITCH!!
Mind my language!

Geoff made steak for dinner on the BBQ and let me tell you! It was the best steak I had in a while!!
Was so good!
I added some avocado because.. why not.. lol

Sunday morning I heard the dog crying at the top of the stairs so I decided to wake up and hung out with Duke a bit and let everyone else sleep in.
It was getting cold in the garage so we came inside.
Now Duke is only allowed in the living room when someone else is with him because he's a puppy and wants to break everything or eat everything!!
So I let him in the living room so he would stop whining and he ran straight to the window to look out.
After ten minutes of looking he started barking.. at nothing...

It was literally nothing!
After that though, Geoff woke up! lol!

So I've been trying to lose weight for awhile now and I can't find something that sticks. I used to do yoga all the time so I thought I would look up some studios in my area and see if maybe that'll help me get back into shape!!
I found one a couple blocks away and went to a class.
I signed up for 30 days so we'll see how it goes!!
So far I've been to two classes and I'm loving it!!
So fingers cross it sticks!!!

After yoga I walked down to Wal-Mart cause I needed a few things!
Plus there is this spot on my bedroom wall that is empty and has been driving me crazy!!

I've previous mentioned that Jennel got married last September and I've been meaning to print some of the professional photos off and hang them up!
So I went to Wal-Mart printed off my favourite four in various sizes!

Afterwards I walked to the dollar store which is close by and got four frames!
I didn't like the white one I got but loved that texture of it so I had some gold spray paint at home!
Now everything is up and that spot on the wall doesn't look so empty anymore!!

I also started putting my sewing skills to the test this weekend!
The strap I have for my yoga mat SUCKS!
My mat keeps unraveling so its driving me NUTS!

At the yoga studio straps are like $70 and no thank you!
So I'm trying to sew one!
Now I'm not the best at sewing so wish my luck!!
This is what it looks like now, I think its going to take me awhile...

Then on Monday I went to yoga again, did a face mask and bought the dog a new bed..
Lets see how long that last..

Friday Favourites!!

Hello Beautiful People!! :)

Welcome!!

Again, just like last Friday I'm linking up with Momfessionals and friends for their Friday Favourites!!

Wanna join, grab the graphic and link up with them over at their blogs!!

It's a short list this week, I've been working 10 hour days and am too exhausted to even think right now!

So last night I went around my room and took pictures of a few of my favourite things around there!!

First off..

I am IN LOVE with this LAMP!!

I bought it at Target when Target was going out of business in Canada! So I got it for 50% off!!
I love the yellow colour! I'm usually not a yellow fan but I was drawn to this lamp!!
I had it in the living at my apartment and it still fits perfectly in my room when I moved home!!

Another favourite this week is the Pineapple cup I got yesterday at Wal-Mart!

It's glass so not meant for small children, but think about how cute it will be in the summer filled with a nice fruity alcoholic beverage!!
Bonus! It was only $3.50!!
It comes in three different colours so if you're interested you can find it here

Keeping with the Pineapple theme. For Christmas my youngest sister got me this Pineapple Candle from Secret Aroma!

It smelled AMAZING!!! And I burnt it quickly (mostly to get the ring) but now it's just a nice piece on my dresser!!
The ring that came in it was too big so I couldn't wear it but it was VERY nice!!
For some reason my sister thought I was a size 10 in rings...
Unfortunately it was a limited edition so I don't believe you can get it any longer

A few years ago I asked my mom for a jewelry box for my birthday and sent her a bunch of pictures of them at both Marshall's and Winner's and on my birthday I was given this..

Clearly I have a very large jewelry collection. It's full and I have no spots to put anything else!! But I LOVE it! It is definitely a FAVOURITE!
There's even a piece in the middle the comes out that you can use as a travel case!!
It was expensive and she lectured me that I better use it!
It's three years later and it's still full and I still use it!
Plus its pretty enough to put on my dresser and showcase all of my jewelry!!

My last FAVOURITE in my room is this mirror

It's also from Target and believe it was only $10!! Total steal!!
It gives me a Disney Princess feel and I'm all for that!!

Those are my favourites for this week!
I'll try and blog again Monday, but with my weekend being Sunday-Monday the odds of that are slime!
But I'll 100% be back Tuesday with a new post!!

Have a FABULOUS weekend!!

For now it's just...

Chase's Seventh Birthday!

Hello Beautiful People!! :)

Last week I blogged about my nephew Noah's first birthday party and today I'm going to blog about the other half of that day!
Chase's Pokemon Themed 7th Birthday Party!!!

Now I did SOOOO much research into this party!
Jennel told me that Chase wanted a Pokemon thing and I let my Pinterest fingers fly!!

First I had to start with the invitations

Excuse my nails, they need to be painted BADLY!

I found a mommy blog that had pretty much the same invitations and I thought to myself, I could make those! So I googled a picture of a Pokeball and made it in Microsoft Word!!

I found a few blogs on Pinterest and basically just took bits and pieces from each one and this is what I came up with!!

First up I started by making this "Happy Birthday" banner!!
I wish I made it a little bigger so you could see it a bit more but I didn't realize its size until I hung it onto the wall.

However my favourite part about the whole party had to be the goody bags and the tables!!

First well start off with the table!!

All I got was two table cloths from the dollar store, a paper plate, and some black electrical tape.

The goody bags took a pretty long time but were so worth it in the end!!
Next to my work we have a dollar store that's privately owned and the best dollar store I've ever been too!

They THANKFULLY had these yellow bags! I had found the GIANT yellow ones there a few days before I found the small ones and bought them on impulse!
But they did come in handy, so I could make the ears.

The only problem I had with them was drawing the eyes. So I ended up going back to the dollar store and finding stick-on ones.
They turned out SO freaking cute!!! I'm very happy about them!

Hung some balloons from the ceiling and called it good!

After all the children arrived Jennel had a reptile guy come in and show the children snakes, frogs and other animals!

Here I am holding an African Bullfrog!

After the reptile guy left we played a few games!

I had downloaded a few printables off the blogs I found.

We played Pin-the-Tail on Pikachu and a scavenger hunt!

I printed out a bunch of different Pokemon's and placed them all around the basement and had the kids run around and whoever found the most won!
We didn't have much time left before parents came and picked everyone up so we had to shorten the game! They were each supposed to have their own card and go and find them all! But we improvised and everyone had fun!!!

Then it was time for Cake and Presents!!

I made this cupcake cake, however, I did forget about the center circle and improvised with a big blob of icing. It doesn't look pretty but the bunch of 7 year olds didn't really seem to care.

Here are some various photos from the day!

And finally here's a picture of me and the birthday boy!

Bunny Cupcakes!!

Hello Beautiful People!! :)

Sorry for the late post today!
I had to fill in at work so wasn't able to write this post until after the heat dead down at work!
Doctor mornings are always the busiest!!

Anyway I had my nephew's birthday party post planned for today but I forgot to take a photo of the invitations I made so I'll post that one tomorrow.

So today I'll post about the cupcakes I blogged about yesterday!!!

Usually when I'm looking for new recipes I do what anyone else does, I google!

I knew I wanted vanilla and I knew I wanted moist cupcakes so I found something that looked good and gave it a try! Plus it came with a frosting recipe so bonus!
Everyone said such good things about them so I'll most definitely bake them again!!

I started off mixing together the dry ingredients

Mixed together the wet ingredients

Mixed them both together

Slowly mixed in some water and stirred them together! The recipe called for me to use an electric mixer and for some reason just wasn't in the mood to get it out of the cupboard so used I a wooden spoon and a lot of wrist power!

While mixing I turned around and saw this sleepy face watching me

Put them into the cupcake trays and into the oven they went

While the cupcakes were baking I got started on the frosting!
Now frosting is not my biggest strong suit. Every time I make frosting it NEVER works out! It ends up trickling down the cupcakes and melting all over everything!!

I mixed all the ingredients together and mixed until my hand turned blue! (Not actually)

Added mix as directed

While the cupcakes baked this little guy had a nap

Once the cupcakes were done I let them cool down and and put the icing in Ziploc bags and put them in the fridge.
I let the cupcakes cool down for approximately 45 minutes and then iced the cupcakes

A few weeks ago I was shopping at Michael's and found the little feet and just put some more icing on to put as the tail! I should have bought something like marshmallows, but by the time the cupcakes were done I was too lazy to go to the grocery store again!

It only came with 12 pairs of feet, but I went to the dollar store the day before and found Easter cupcake papers and they came with matching toppers so I used those on the other 12 cupcakes that I had made

If you want to make the recipe yourself here's the recipe
